Charles GOODWIN is known as one of the pioneers in the field of social interaction research. In his latest book, he arranges his previous publications so as to provide a framework that could result in a "radical turn in anthropology." Co-operative action provides a mechanism for the accumulation and reuse of materials from previous actions on a moment-by-moment-basis, while simultaneously enabling researchers to reach behind the paradigm of co-presence. With "Co-Operative Action," GOODWIN introduces an intriguing framework for analyzing such complex social situations.
