Abstract

SCHMITTs qualitatively designed research on the critical impact of the ecology-movement may be seen in the context of historicizing the newer social movements. A conclusion is reached that, in the final result, the character of the "green" movement consists of not just ecology—but substantial society-orientated critical views at the end of the nineties. Tobias SANDER ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Forschungsprojekt "Akademische Karrieren 1850-1945" am Methodenzentrum Sozialwissenschaften (MZS) und Lehrbeauftragter der Institute für Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft und Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte an der Universität Göttingen. Arbeitsschwerpunkte: Sozialgeschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts, insb. der Arbeiterschaft und des Bürgertums, historische und soziologische Theorien und Methoden.
