Qualitative research in the fields of education, social work, and youth and childhood studies has become established in recent years and produced a range of currently dominant approaches, calling for a systematic analysis of qualitative research methods. The Winter School "Qualitative Research in Education and Social Research: Innovation, New Developments, and Methodological Perspectives" at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, has given 40 young researchers (doctoral as well as postdoctoral) the opportunity for further qualification in different formats: Keynotes, panels, workshops, and peer workshops.
