With a diverse program focusing on membership categorization analysis (MCA), the conference provided insights into a method of analysis that is yet to be established in German-speaking qualitative research. Presentations were offered on qualitative-empirical research practice, as well as theoretical considerations of categorization analysis. The MCA perspective was discussed by a diverse group of presenters. Among the approaches examined was a fundamental categorization analysis, in addition to specific MCA methods. This diversity of approaches was advantageous for positioning MCA within a wider spectrum of sociological categorization analysis. A summary of the findings from critical and productive discussions and the contributions of the presenters is provided.
