The book provides an analysis of the news-industry from a rather fresh point of view. Well-established models like the gate-keeper or agenda-setting-model are criticized as insufficient to deal, for example, with the phenomenon of unexpected incidents. By the means of chaos-theory the author examines the production of news and the organization of editorial staffs. He opens the door for a rethinking of the journalist's and editor's work. However, there is no empirical support and no in-depth-analysis of a chaos-conceptual news-theory. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0204323Downloads
