Abstract

Peter SCHÖTTLER's edition Marc Bloch. Aus der Werkstatt des Historikers. Zur Theorie und Praxis der Geschichtswissenschaft deals with 31 key-texts of the French historian of the Middle Ages and founding father of the Annales-School Marc BLOCH. The book is well structured and very accurately translated serving as an ideal introduction to the scientific work of BLOCH. The reader gets an interesting insight into the brilliant research work of BLOCH concerning the history of mentalities, comparing history and historical anthropology. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0201219

Volker Barth, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS)

Volker BARTH ist Doktorant an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München sowie an der École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales Paris. Seine Themenschwerpunkte sind u.a. französiche Weltausstellungen im 19. Jahrhundert, Repräsentationsformen des Fremden und Konsumforschung. Er gehört der DFG-Forschergruppe 390 "Kulturelle Inszenierung von Fremdheit im 19. Jahrhundert" an und ist Herausgeber des Bulletin 2001 des Bureau International des Expositions (B.I.E.). Von Volker BARTH findet sich in FQS auch eine Rezension zu Verschriebene Fremdheit.
