Peter SCHÖTTLER's edition Marc Bloch. Aus der Werkstatt des Historikers. Zur Theorie und Praxis der Geschichtswissenschaft deals with 31 key-texts of the French historian of the Middle Ages and founding father of the Annales-School Marc BLOCH. The book is well structured and very accurately translated serving as an ideal introduction to the scientific work of BLOCH. The reader gets an interesting insight into the brilliant research work of BLOCH concerning the history of mentalities, comparing history and historical anthropology.
