Gleich und doch anders. Über die Möglichkeiten, Praxistheorie und Situationsanalyse zu kombinieren

Eine wesentliche Neuerung der Situationsanalyse ist die Idee von Theorie-Methoden-Paketen. In diesem Artikel plädiere ich für ein solches Paket aus Praxistheorie und Situationsanalyse. Auf Basis eines empirischen Projekts zu Mobilitätspraktiken untersuche ich zentrale praxistheoretische Konzepte auf deren Passung zu situationsanalytischer Methodologie. Neben grundsätzlichen ontologischen Fragen beziehe ich mich dabei insbesondere auf prominente Theoriefiguren Theodore SCHATZKIs. Anknüpfend an seinen Grundgedanken von Praxistheorie als flacher Ontologie sehe ich im Konzept der Sites vielversprechende Parallelen zu Adele CLARKEs Situation. Auf dieser Basis werden weitere Konzepte, wie das Plenum des Sozialen, Chains of Activity sowie das von Elizabeth SHOVE geprägte Elements Model kritisch beleuchtet. Im letzten Teil des Beitrags zeige ich auf, dass ein Theorie-Methoden-Paket aus Praxistheorie und Situationsanalyse sowohl ontologisch möglich als auch vielversprechend für die Forschung ist: Konzeptionell wird dadurch die Darstellung empirischer Komplexität ermöglicht, während Forschende gleichermaßen analytische Werkzeuge wie theoretisches Vokabular zur Verfügung haben.
