Mensch-Nichtmensch-Beziehungen in psychiatrischen Kliniken: zu den Berührungspunkten zwischen sensorischer und institutioneller Ethnografie

In meiner ethnografischen Feldforschung in psychiatrischen Kliniken in der Schweiz untersuchte ich, welche menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Dimensionen von Fürsorge den Klinikalltag prägten. In diesem Artikel steht folgende Frage im Zentrum: Wie kann die institutionelle Ethnografie dazu beitragen, das Konzept des Hospital Multiple in die Forschungspraxis zu integrieren? Dieses Konzept erlaubt es Forschenden, Erfahrungen von Krankheit, Fürsorge und Gewalt als ein Zusammenspiel von menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Faktoren zu betrachten. In meiner Forschung arbeitete ich mit einem nicht-idealisierenden Begriff von Sorgepraktiken, um dadurch unsichtbare und marginalisierte Erfahrungsdimensionen innerhalb der institutionalisierten Fürsorge sichtbar zu machen. Basierend auf Vignetten aus dem Forschungsfeld diskutiere ich Forschungsergebnisse und methodische Zugänge, welche die Ambivalenzen von Sorgepraktiken aufzeigen – mit einem Fokus auf sensorischen und nichtmenschlichen Dimensionen. Ich argumentiere, dass mit der Sensory Ethnography geeignete Werkzeuge für ein solches Vorhaben zur Verfügung stehen, insbesondere durch deren Fokus auf sensorische Atmosphären und kollaborativ dokumentierte Moving Interviews. Institutionelle Ethnografien des Hospital Multiple eröffnen so kreative Wege, um sowohl das verkörperte Wissen der Forschungsteilnehmenden als auch grössere institutionelle Machtstrukturen zu erforschen.
