This article investigates the previous history of qualitative social research with the economic term "economic cycle" and shows the reasonability of such a perspective. It arises, that there is no special trend or a certain target-oriented development to observe within the qualitative social research but an up and down of topics and preferences. In the conclusion shall be drawn a balance of the prevailing state of qualitative social research. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0903291Downloads
