The narrative interview has developed into an important instrument in qualitative research. In this guide book, Gabriele LUCIUS-HOENE and Arnulf DEPPERMANN consistently link the narrative interview to the reconstruction of narrative identities: they regard autobiographical narratives as the soil in which identity constructions are simultaneously developed and presented. Due to the growing number and diversity of research focused on questions of identity and biography in the last few years, the authors compile a set of instruments for the analytical reconstruction of such identity work, which is methodologically reflected as well as flexible in its application. In order to do so, they draw on findings of such fields as narrative psychology, conversation analysis and narrative analysis. Because the book is designed as a study book, it particularly addresses those in qualitative research who are interested in identity work within verbal interaction. Furthermore, it offers a reflective collection of research findings of various discursive disciplines. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs030354Downloads
