The research information system for transport, urban development, regional planning and housing, which is currently being constructed, was presented for the first time to a wide range professional audience at a conference of the German Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Housing on April, 18th 2002. The following article summarizes this presentation and describes the background, the objectives and the content of the project. The goal of the information system is to present the status of the research knowledge about current and important issues for the transport, building and housing politics in a clearly arranged manner. Methods and procedures of qualitative social research have had a prominent impact on the system's concept. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0301165Downloads
