Abstract

DE LAINE presents theoretical discussions and case examples of fieldwork to demonstrate the complexity of ethics that includes attention to both the ethnographic process and product. She demonstrates how ethical practice for the contemporary fieldwork researcher requires critical and reflective thinking, in addition to an understanding of codes of ethics. Nancy Shore, University of Washington

Nancy SHORE is a social welfare doctoral student at the University of Washington. Her work focuses on the ethical issues of community-based participatory research. Currently she works as a research assistant at Community-Campus Partnerships for Health examining what is the required infrastructure to develop and sustain community-university partnerships for health research.
